There’s no disputing that we all stalk individuals on Instagram from time to time, although in our harmless way. This is something we’ve all done at some point. We’re also aware that Instagram keeps track of our search history. What’s bothersome is that Instagram makes it clear that we visit these profiles by displaying them as search options.
Not all of the time, though. When the search history fails to clean, previous suggestions appear as soon as the first letter is typed. And the previous Instagram search history comes back. So, what is a person to do in such a situation?
We’ll go over a couple of options for permanently deleting Instagram search history. Instagram does not automatically clean your history. Therefore you must do it manually.
- Clear search history:
Startup your Instagram app
- Top of the screen, tap the IG search bar.
- Results from past searches will be displayed.
- In the search result, you want to hide, tap the x icon.
- Then a warning will appear, prompting you to click OK.
- Clear app cache data:
You can also try wiping the app cache and data on Android phones, proving to be a lifesaver for many.
- Log out from the app:
Logging out of the Instagram app is another option for resolving the problem.
- Restart the device:
We recommend restarting your smartphone after clearing the Instagram search history.
All the above options work when your Instagram search history comes back.
